Consultation

Are you prepared for the next wildfire?

Our Homeowner Wildland Fire Risk Overview will cover your property, the surrounding terrain and fire behavior risks, structure modifications and home hardening plans, and vegetation defensible space recommendations.

Step 1

It all begins with scheduling an professional consultation at your property for a Wildfire Risk Overview to be conducted at your home.

Step 2

Firebreak Forestry will perform an onsite assessment of your property's Home Ignition Zone (HIZ). We will assess the wildfire risk in your area and document recommended home hardening and vegetation defensible space improvements. This on-sight evaluation process will take approximately two to three hours.

Step 3

You will receive an digital report of your Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) Assessment with personalized recommendations to improve your home resilience to wildfire and actions to increase your vegetation defensible space. Your consultative report will include recommendations for home and property hardening.

In this report will be maps of wildfire risk specific to your property. We use subscription services to satellite data that help us determine the level of risk, based on numerous factors such as; landscape characteristics, burn probability, surface fuels, vegetation and the overall wildland urban interface.

You can decide what, if any of those mitigation recommendations you would like Firebreak Forestry to perform.

Please note: The property owner is normally available at the beginning of appointment time and, then, again in the last 30 minutes of your property’s assessment appointment. The last 30 minutes are used to discuss a number of the key aspects of your Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) Assessment. This is a very worthwhile part of your Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) Assessment and your written report on the Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) Assessment/Mitigation recommendations will, also, contain those areas covered in person on the day of assessment.

The price of this professional assessment is $300.

The price to perform mitigation varies based on a wide variety of factors such as topography, level of ground cover, tree and shrub density, among others.
